Ellen's daytime talk show, "The Ellen Show", gives her an amazing platform to help those struggling to find the courage to come out, and to advocate for the fair treatment of those in the LGBTQ+ community. In fact, President Obama awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016 for just that. Ellen will also receive the prestigious Carol Burnett award at the 2020 Golden Globe ceremony for her outreach and constant dedication to helping others. Ellen has invited other celebrities such as Ellen Page onto her show to give praise for coming out, and utilizes her show as a platform to get her voice out there. She has spoken about being discriminated against by One Million Moms, a conservative mom group who wanted to boycott JCPenney due to Ellen being there spokesmodel. All of these actions show that Ellen's advocacy is genuine, and that is very evident by watching even just one episode of her talk show. One notable thing about Ellen's continual advocacy is that it is always done with kindness, regardless of how cruel others can be, and that is something that sets Ellen's work apart from the rest.
